Bubba Gump @ The Curve

There is only so much shrimp you can eat but you must visit this restaurant for the ambience, atmosphere and service. Inspired by the movie Forrest Gump, this restaurant is located at The Curve Mutiara Damansara. It's first outlet was of course in Cannery Row in Monterey California and it opened doors in 1996. Since then, they have grown nationwide within the U.S. and now internationally.
The interior has a very fisherman boat ranch sort of look and feel with alot of quotes and quirky remarks on it's walls.

For example, this particular one that I think is rather cool.

One very cool concept (which I feel has its flaws) is that, if you need service from the waiters, you no longer need to raise your hands, or wisel, or clap your hands or even called out "Oi!", "Excuse me", "Ahem", "Hello?" or even "Boss"!

On each table there are license plates which read the following:

RUN FORREST RUN - MEANS SERVICE IS NOT REQUIRED

STOP FORREST STOP - MEANS SERVICE IS REQUIRED

So, if at anytime you need service, just flip the license plate over to Stop Forrest Stop and the waiter nearest will swing by your table. My experience wasn't all that smooth because I was there in the afternoon around 4pm and sat upstairs and there was no one else but us upstairs. So, the waiters were not "always" upstairs and I just had to always call out "excuse me" if I needed service. If it's crowded, then this concept would really work.

Stop by - the food is good but you can't eat alot of shrimp. Service is good. Cost - reasonable!

Random Stuff

Ok, I've always wanted to write without having any connection whatsoever to anything that I'm writing about. See if I can succeed in doing that gracefully.
So recently we celebrated Christmas worldwide. Didn't even feel Christmas-sy here. There was no joy feeling and nothing was merry about the day coz everyone was walking around a stick up their ass! The decoration however was pretty nice around town.
This was a display outside of Pavilion and obviously people were attracted to see what the heck it was. I couldn't figure it out. I gave up!

This was also outside Pavilion - yea! you read my mind - looks like an expired ice-cream! Who thinks of the colors for these things anyways!!???

I finally picked up golfing regularly. I use to hit the driving range before but that was very much when I'm in the mood only. Now I'm dedicated every Saturday and Sunway or else my friend will literally kick my sweet ass!

My car finally hit 88,888 km/h and for a car that's just turned 4 years old, it runs pretty smooth and it's quite the looker. Will upload more pics of my car when I have it. This baby is gonna be handed over to my parents so that they can get rid of the stupid sorry ass excuse they have that they call a "Car!!"
I didn't do that bad - now my story is over. Peace!!!

Done with 2008 - Deal with 2009

Another year has passed and so many things have happened and I'm thankful for. These are some of the things that are on my top list:

1. I am a home owner
2. I live on my own
3. My brother and I grew so much closer
4. My niece is 5 years old now
5. My nephews are now 3 years old
6. My parents retired
7. My new boss is great
8. I learned who my true friends are
9. I'm stable on my own - finally
10. I put on weight (not good)
11. A really good friend is now "just a friend" - I tried wei
12. It's all about quality now and no longer quantity when it comes to friends
13. I don't owe anything to my credit card companies
14. I do my own laundry
15. I wash my own dishes
16. I iron my own clothes (except for the one's I sent to the laundry - work cloths la wei)
17. I clean my own house (with the help of my once-a-week maid)
18. I started gym regularly again
19. I'm picking up golfing regularly
20. I cook more at home

See, so many things to be thankful about. I guess 2009 will be alot more challenging than 2008. I believe that 2008 was really a honeymoon year for alot of people and 2009 is when everyone is truly tested.

ZoukOut Singapore

So, it comes once a year and everyone just goes nuts over it! Now, in my mind, it's just another outdoor event - and my thought wasn't too far away from reality except that I didn't anticipate the hour long wait for a cab to take us out of Siloso Beach. What a bitch that was!! Finally, we had to actually share a cab with this lovely couple who didn't mind dropping us off just outside of Sentosa - right outside of St.James so that we could get a cab from there back to the hotel.
Ok, so, that was the only pain-in-the-ass thing that happened.
Here are some pictures to tell you the rest of the story! Overall, it was a decent party with access to booze all night long at reasonable prices. They had bars located everywhere. They also had some games such as the trampoline, tattoo artists, massages and face painting.

Besides the great line up of DJ's, the other fascinating element of the night was the fact that our "shy" asian girls are now NO LONGER SHY!!!!! There were girls walking around with just bikini's and some bikini's barely covering jack-shit! Might as well don't wear the damm thing! Another interesting fact that I noticed (and I'm sure you all noticed but just don't have the balls to say it) is that many asian girls these days are beginning to have bigger boobs!! I don't know if it's the good food that they are consuming or it's just the bra but they are looking HUGE!

Of course, the group of us who went had a blast and some people even took it a step further and decided to get really drunk and dance with random dudes - ala Janet Jackson style!

This girl was classic - she was sitting alone posing so we decided to approach her and tell her that she looks perfect to be a calendar girl. We asked her to pose for the camera and she did - HOW VAIN! Then a friend of ours wanted to meet her and as they walked towards her, her "white" boyfriend returned and as soon as he sat, she started making out with him with so much passion. This is probably what went through her mind: "Wah! They think I'm HOT! I better make out with my boyfriend to prove a point that I'm not available". What went through our mind:
"Cheh! Like la she damm hot! So pariah looking! Let's take a picture as a joke!!"

Now, I'm sure you would have heard the saying "Angel falling from the sky" - this was almost the similar case. Michael was sitting down and Bess stepped back not realising he was there and fell onto his lap!! Meant for each other!!

Well, as you can see, it was good fun. Obviously some of us went home before the party ended coz we've been to hundreds of these parties so they all look the same after awhile. The younger crowd, who went to Singapore to sleep and eat in the hotel and go to ZoukOut, of course partied till 8am. Funny thing is, they spent the entire time in Singapore sleeping and eating in the hotel. Funny people!!! But weird!!!

Christmas - The Best Season Ever

Christmas is probably my most favorite holiday season in the year. It's so lively and beautiful. Even the music is so beautiful and not noisy - like the other festives!! I've seen some really good Christmas tree displays in Malaysia and Singapore this year. Its something about Santa Clause and SantaRina's that spark every year. I'm not a huge fan of the dwarf but they are cool too.


This Heineken Christmas tree was erected in Sunways Pyramid just outside Republic Bistro. Simple yet impacful.

My favorite - Ikano Power House - so beautiful, so white and there was snow. The display was amazing and the best that I've seen so far but I'm sure there are other that kick ass as well.
